Hi Morning Doves -

I'm a little late with the notice, but we are returning to Alton Baker  
park again tomorrow -   Plan to meet at the Community Garden at 8 AM.   
We will wander along the paved path from the community garden, past  
the dog park and Autzen stadium and through the woods to the bridge  
over the Willamette and then back to the Community Garden.  Should be  
jumping with spring migrants and we will check out the brown creeper  
nest.

I will have my cell phone turned on after 7:30 AM in case you need to  
find us -  335-1637.

Breakfast will be at Todd's Restaurant at the south end of the Ferry  
Street bridge - BIG YELLOW ROOF......

Perhaps next week we will check out Fern Ridge.  The shorebirds are  
migrating.  Somewhere between 5,000 and 8,000 were flying through  
Tillamook County on Saturday.  The move is on!

Hello Birders -

The Oregon Birders Online (OBOL) has been full of reports of migrating  
warblers, evening grosbeaks, western tanagers and various shorebirds.   
It sounds like a good time for us to return to Fern Ridge for some  
birding.

On Tuesday we will meet at the west end of Royal Avenue in the parking  
lot at 8 AM.  The road surface is a little uneven from all the big  
trucks hauling fill to construct the Caspian Tern "island".  We will  
walk out and back to the observation platform.  Coffee/breakfast will  
be at The Daily Bread in Veneta - probably about 10 AM.

I will have my cell phone turned on after 7:30 AM - 335-1637 in case  
you arrive late and need to find us.

I hope we will have good weather.

Dear Birders -

I will be out of town next Tuesday, but Nancy McKechnie and Elliot  
McIntire have graciously agreed to lead the bird walk.  They will be  
doing Delta Ponds - meet in the northwest corner of the Valley River  
Center parking lot (behind Kiefer Kia and the Darth Vadar building) at  
8 AM.  They will be walking north on the bike/pedestrian path.

I don't know where they will plan to go for coffee.

Thieves strike again.  I haven't heard of problems at the end of Royal  
- too bad they are hitting the Fisher area because that is where the  
black necked stilts and other shorebirds are being found right now.

Dear Birders -

Tomorrow we will return to the eastern portion of Alton Baker Park -  
Meet in Parking Lot #9 behind Autzen Stadium at 8 AM.  We will walk  
out to the pond and then to the Willamette River and back to the  
parking lot.

Breakfast at Todd's Place - 355 E Broadway at the south end of the  
Ferry Street Bridge.

There is a 20% off coupon for Todd's  in the Tastings insert of the  
May 23 Register-Guard, page 19.  If you recycle your newspapers, you  
might still have it.  The coupon is for your entire purchase.

We should be able to find a nice assortment of birds tomorrow.  Hope
