A gentle suggestion, Bob: instead of "handicap", i think "mobility
challenges" or some/such would work better for me. The word
"handicapped" has such negative connotations. And what a Wonderful
idea! For us to go through the line first. At the native american
longhouse, Elders are always served first, and the Young men serve
those with mobility issues. . . However, to do that here would be like
it was at the Grandmother's gathering. We're mostly elders here. But,
we could make room for those with walkers, canes (all kinds), and
wheelchairs (of all ages) to go first AND pay attention to where we are
stopping to chat. thnx, dm
