Oh dear! I don't want to be the subject of any disagreements.
Jeanne Marie is exactly right: it's Sign Language interpreter.
I think I just wanted you not to use the word "signer."
So my intention was for you to say "our interpreter", not
"our deaf interpreter."
How fussy we all are about who we are!
