Ken,

It's true you may need to lengthen the area on the post where the hinge 
is attached and if that can't be done without detaching the post, that 
might be a problem. I don't recall that the person who did it for me had 
to detach the framing to make the enlargement but it was some time ago 
and I'm not sure. You do need approx. two inches between the door and 
the wall, so maybe that could be a problem. I'd be glad to have George 
come over and look at mine.
