Greetings to all. We now have, not only a real committee, but a mailing list
as well, thanks to Mary, Martha, and the magic of the Internet! As
Jeanne-Marie would say: How cool is THAT?
My only relevant news is that I attended the Coordinating Council meeting
yesterday morning at church. As it is customary for each committee to have a
representative, I named myself the one for our group.
It was announced that the new co-chairs for the Social Justice Committee are
Jeff Jackson and Gretchen Miller.
Much of the discussion involved practical matters, such as the use of the
new bulletin board on the wall between the bathrooms on the upper level, the
need to keep the AV closet door locked, the importance of turning out lights
and locking the doors after a meeting or event, where to get forms for
requesting or turning in money, the need for more people to be trained for
operating the sound system, etc.
There will be a budget workshop in January.
The Committee Policies Manual has been revised by Ken Ross and changes were
approved, with thanks for his tireless efforts.
A report from Sue Craig was read, which stated that the spring auction will
be held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church on Coburg Road.
maria mentioned it would be good for our committee to check out the
accessibility of the building for this. as well as for other events held
outside the church.
Marilyn and Nisco Junkins plan to attend our December 4th meeting to make an
announcement. I spoke briefly to Marilyn, as chair of Membership, about the
possibility of having representatives of our two committees attend each
other's meetings, as there is clearly an overlap in our interests. She was
very open to this idea.
/That's all folks!
