Getting to Know UU/You
The Newcomer Orientation series is usually held at least twice a year, typically in Fall and Spring.
The next series is planned for Fall 2013.
Newcomer Orientation
Are you interested in becoming a member of UUCE? Want to learn more about this church and the history of Unitarian Universalism? Looking to discover the programs this church has to offer?
The Newcomers' Orientation is just for you! This two-part Fall 2013 series will be held on two Saturdays from 9:00-12:30 (childcare available upon request at registration). For more information, visit the table in the Social Hall at the church or contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. at 541-344-8259
In these two Saturday sessions you’ll learn some of the highlights of the Unitarian Universalist history, philosophy and principles. There will be times for asking and answering questions, and for sharing with other newcomers your spiritual journey, religious ideas and values. This can help you identify what you are looking for in a church home, as you learn more about UUCE's history, purposes, traditions, mission, programs and guidelines.
Even if you have been a member of other UU congregations, you’ll find this series a great way to begin to be part of this community, with new friends.
Is Attendance Required?
Attendance at Newcomer Orientation is not required to become a member. But we believe that joining this church is an important decision, so we don’t want newcomers to rush into membership. We encourage you to take your time, and strongly encourage you to attend, to develop a stronger part in our community
