The UUCE "Breakfast Cluub" is an open group of church members and friends in their 20s through 40s. People got together in 2009 and created our "breakfast cluub" after the group of misfits in the movie of the same name.
We get together regularly for potlucks, work parties, bowling, or at the park (strangely, not ever for breakfast yet except when we're camping). Other activities include caroling, and wine/italian soda tasting. Events are open to anyone who's interested... it's not a club, that was just a great movie. Bring a friend anytime.
Some of us are in college or are working professionals; many of us have school-age kids. Overall, everyone enjoys being around kids or cheerfully accepts mild chaos. College-age folks: this part of the group is growing, be involved! You can help organize activities like movie nights or happy hours.
Many people affiliated with this group serve on church committees and participate in the RE program as well - this helps our age group be fully integrated into congregational life. If you don't do anything yet, jump in to help with coffee service - it's easy and fun!

Current activities 2012
Theme: Stay connected! This year has some chaos with the move and new interim minister church. Our simple second sunday potlucks and camping trip are the core events. Whether you make it to a service or not you're welcome at the potluck! Friends and members can camp. Consider bringing a non-church friend to meet some people.
2ND SUNDAYS - Potluck and Social Time
Time: 1:00 - 2:30 pm
Dates:
May 20 - No church service & moving into the BUUB! Be a small part of the big move! See main church pages, UUPdate, newsletter. There will be food and happy, organized work, as well as places for kids.
(change in date due to May 13 being Mother's Day & last service in old building!),
June 9 - Potluck in the Park if weather is nice, or at BUUB (location TBD). Topic of the day will be - Camping trip planning! food, activites, gear loaning
July 13 - no planned activity due to Oregon Country Fair.
July 20 weekend - camping trip!
SUMMER CAMPING TRIP!
July 20 weekend is our big camping trip! We have an entire beautiful campground to ourselves with a meadow, ampithatre, picnic shelter, and more. We have enough room for up to 80 folks. It will be about $17/individual or $34/family for the weekend. Reserve your spot as soon as you know you can come. BCluub early reserve until May 30, then we'll invite other intrepid church folks to sign up through June 29. Please help Katy & Thea organize some aspect of it if you can.

What it looks like: Everyone welcome. If you're new to the church or curious about BCluub, this is a great time to meet some folks. Adults socialize while kids color, play games and run around. Please bring a dish to share... focus on makings for PB & J sandwiches, healthy snack food, juice. Gluten free options welcome! If you bring an actual potluck dish we will rave about you for weeks!
November 11- easy potluck - bring sandwich makings and prepare to swap around.
December- cider & caroling (date TBA) Can you host/organize this?
Activity ideas
Help make one happen! We'll need a host and some basic details. Please contact one of our coordinators listed in the contact box above. Alternatively, just post a message to the list-serv and invite folks!
Anyone want to start and manage a BCluub facebook page?
Anytime activites: Movie night and/or slumber party at the church, Mt. Pisgah hike, Fruit picking, Cider Pressing party, gathering/potluck at someone's house, bowling at Southtowne Lanes, Science Factory
Winter activities w/kids: Sledding or inner-tubing up Hwy 58, dinner together afterward at Brewers Local 180 (English pub) in Oakridge (very kid-friendly place!)
Giving activites: River clean-up, Food for Lane County, Work party at church, presentation from local non-profit for option of getting involved (kids included).
Adult activites: Wine tasting, Ladies' night out, Guys' night, Snowshoeing at Gold Lake snow park, reading/discussion Emerson or other, spritual discussion with our minister on topic, reading and discussion group a la small group but just one or two nights, parenting discussion rountable with our RE director. For adult activites: either help think of child care if possible, or just a subset of the Cluub w/out kids is fine too.
