Well Make Our Garden Grow
Inch by inch
Row by row
Were going to make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe
And a fertile piece of ground . . .

Our Unitarian Universalist community is like a garden. Each year we push our roots more deeply into rich soil and raise our branches higher. We cultivate our community, feed its hunger, water its spirit, and tend its growth.
Tending a garden requires regular watering, weeding, cultivation and nurturing. In turn, our gardens sustain us, shelter us, and offer us spiritual retreat. Just as a garden is rooted in faith, so is our church. We have faith that our church will grow in community, that we will expand our influence, that we will shape the next generation in our humanist principles, and that we will strengthen what is good and right on our planet.
During our Annual Spring Stewardship Campaign, we ask each member and friend to consider how to strengthen our roots and help our branches flower. UUCE requires constant nurturing and vigilance. We depend on your financial support, loyal involvement and resolute devotion. In return, our UU community shelters us in times of need, blesses us with shared joy, directs our childrens path, and deepens our faith.
This year, we will welcome a new, settled minister to our church. He or she will provide spiritual guidance and oversee our many programs. But it is all of us who truly are the church. We must rely on one another to make our church work. Just as we volunteer our time, so we offer our financial commitments to nurture the community.
- ** Our entire UUCE community will gather for a Celebration Sunday on April 1, 2007, at the Lane Community College. We will first have a church service, followed by a complimentary brunch. You will be asked to make a financial pledge for the 2007-2008 year. A brief program will update you on our search for a settled minister and on options for UUCEs continued growth. Download a MAP to the LCC building (pdf) we will all be meeting in.
We deeply appreciate your past support. As we begin our Stewardship Campaign, we look forward to your continued commitment.

Stewardship Tools
1) If you are pledging for the first time or you are just having trouble deciding how much you should give, fear not! Take a look at the Suggested Fair Share Giving Guide. With this guide and its worksheet you can determine your 2007-2008 contribution to UUCE.
2) Interested in electronic fund transfer (EFT)? We offer you the opportunity to have your contribution automatically transferred to UUCE on a monthly or quarterly basis. It's easy. There's no need to remember each month when to write your pledge check. When you sign up for EFT, your first payment will occur in July, 2007. Click on http://www.uueugene.org/finances/AutoWithdrawForm.pdf to download and print the form.
If you are already using EFT and wish to continue to do so, indicate that fact when you fill out your pledge form. Your information will be updated, and the new amount will begin July, 2007.
3) If you cannot attend the April 1 Celebration Sunday brunch, you can still download a PledgeCard here.
