      Auction, UUCE
      477 East 40th
      Eugene, Oregon 97405

Bid Winners: let the Seller know that you have sent in your check. The Auctioneers will also confirm with the Seller when we receive the check.

•  All proceeds go the the UUCE General Fund to support church activities. We thank you so much for participating in this first Online Auction at
UUCE.

•  Questions to Auctioneers
               at auction09@uueugene.org

Please see the Guidelines and carefully follow the directions there before submitting items or bidding for items.

** Important Revision of item 5 on the Guidelines page:
Individual "seats" for any event offering individual places must be priced by seat within the posting by the individual offering the event. The Seller can chose to set a fixed price per seat — or a minimum price per seat.
The former allows more participants with smaller incomes to participate, the latter may bring in more money for the fundraising event. BOTH are important. If selecting the competitive bidding method, please indicate how the winners will be determined (such as, "the top eight bids will win a seat"). If you select a fixed price per seat, then please set a limit of two or three on how many seats one bidder can purchase. (Offering to cater an event is fine, but that offer belongs under the SERVICES category.)

•  Entries accepted through Thursday June 30. Bidding opened on Saturday June 13.  Auction ends on Monday July 6th at 8pm sharp.

•  Bidders: Click on the address of the Seller for the item you wish to bid on to create an email message to the Seller.  State your name and email address, the item number you wish to bid on, and the amount you wish to offer. Then watch the page of Auction Items to see if your bid is the highest for that day. Make another bid if you can top the other bids you see there. Phoning the Seller for clarification is fine, but bids are only accepted by email.

•  Use of Auction Angels is fine. An Auction Angel is anyone who substitutes their email address (and thus takes on the responsibilities of the Seller) for a Seller who is unavailable for the duration. Or an Auction Angel can carry out a Bidder's request in their name. All Angels must be registered with Auctioneers at auction09@uueugene.org.

•  Both Sellers and Bidders may wish to use the Auction Log to keep track of their bids. Modify the form as needed. If a tie occurs, the chronologically earlier bid wins.

Final Day: Your Auctioneers will be taking all bids that come in until 8:01pm. That means, if you sent your bid at 7:59 but it does not show up as having been sent or received until 8:03 in the header of the *Sellers* email, that bid is "illegal." To get down to the very fine points, some people's headers show the date and time "received," some may show the date and time "sent". If either of these times indicate it was sent or received before 8:01pm, your bid will count. On the final day, Sellers may want to forward bids after 7pm to the Auctioneers with the time stamp showing.

Ties.  If two or more "legal" bids create a tie, the earlier bid takes  precedence. If couples are separated, one of the couple may want to attend (and then enthusiastically make it up to the other), or they
may choose to offer (or negotiate) that seat to an earlier bidder (though the Buyer is responsible for payment).

The Auctioneers will announce the winners after sorting out questions. The website will still be up for viewing, but will not be active.

BIDDING IS CLOSED     THANK YOU!

A Yarn Dyeing Adventure

The winner [ 1 ] and I will agree upon a date on which we will meet at my (Coburg Rd) house and dye a little yarn. I will provide 2 -4oz skeins of 100% virgin wool yarn for the winner to dye with my help and in colors of their choice. We will allow it to steam set while enjoying some brownies and lemonade and then rinse the yarn and hang to dry. After it's dry, I will reskein the yarn and deliver it to the winner's house for them to use as they choose! If this auction is purchased by/for a child, we will use non-toxic food safe dyes. A Door County Fish Boil at One Step Forward Farm

Sally DeCou brings this tradition from her childhood summers spent in Door County, Wisconsin. This affair is done with much fanfare in a big pot over a hot wood fire in the backyard fire pit. While guests drink wine or martinis & eat appetizers, steam flies from the pot, which looks like an ancient cauldron. The ingredients: onions, potatoes and salmon are added in order of cooking time. Right before the fish is done the boil master, Dave DeCou, douses the fire with kerosene, the flames shoot up and the cauldron boils over. The crowd gathered round oooohs and aaaaahs then quickly files inside to partake of the succulent boil along with salads and desserts. At our home on River Road, close to Junction City.

Questions to Auctioneers at auction09@uueugene.org

 Original Instructions on this page:

The Auctioneers will announce the winners in the next day or so after sorting out questions. The website will still be up for viewing, but will not be active.

Payment:  The item must be paid for by the winning bidder(s) as soon as the winners for that item are finalized.  Checks should be made out to UUCE with “auction item # ___" in the memo line.  Please send checks to
           Auction, UUCE
           477 East 40th
           Eugene, Oregon 97405

Bid Winners: let the Seller know that you have sent in your check. The Auctioneers will also confirm with the Seller when we receive the check.

•  All proceeds go the the UUCE General Fund to support church activities. We thank you so much for participating in this first Online Auction at
UUCE.
