Thank you to everyone who came to the Auction on the 4th, to those who generously bid, and of course to those who donated, and to our wonderful volunteers for making it happen!

Soon there will be a list of the winning bidders found on this page, in the white box to the right.

We are delighted to know you truly enjoyed the enticing and joyful offerings of this 2012 Event.  We raised about $6000 towards UUCE’s Annual Budget.  Wow!

5:30pm Baked Potato and Toppings Supper
6:45 - 9:00pm  Auction
in UUCE Sanctuary            No Charge

Childcare:  Reservations required.  RSVP to Sue Craig at auction12@uueugene.org

How does it work?

  • Auction Registration.  Everyone will update their information at the registration desk and receive a paddle with an identifying number when they arrive. Some couples get individual numbers and others choose to get one paddle.
  • A paper catalog of auction services, events or destinations will be printed for use at the actual auction, to mark your interests and keep track of winings.
  • Raise your paddle when something of interest comes up.  If more people are interested than there are spaces available, the auctioneer keeps raising the price until enough people lower their paddles to match the available spaces.

Guidelines

Bidding
  • Only registered bidders with numbered cards/paddles may bid.
  • Bidding will only be accepted at the actual auction event at the church.

Angel Bidders.  If you can't attend but want to bid, you may privately make *financial and delivery* arrangements with another person to be your Angel Bidder, who substitutes (and thus takes on all the responsibilities of the Bidder) for you.

  • All auction winners (and Angels) must pay for their items before leaving the premises. All sales are final.
  • Cash and Checks are accepted; we do not offer a credit card payment option.  Checks shall be made out to UUCE with “Auction" in the memo line.
  • All decisions by the Committee and the Auctioneer are final.

Checkout
  • Early checkout is available.  Items must be paid for by the winning bidder/angel before leaving the premises.
  • During the following week, Bid Winners will be posted on the website which will indicate what they won and from whom.

Benefits to all:

• Those who attend get something direct and (more or less) tangible in return for a donation to the Church.
• Many of the events offered for auction are a great way to find people in the church with similar interests and are a wonderful way to share your hobbies, interests, and special places with others.
• Often the events purchased get you to places and activities to which you might not ordinarily go or engage in because you are unaware of them.
• The events offered at the auctions provide important social interactions to help build our community through building personal relationships.
• Both the buyers as well as those offering items for purchase achieve satisfaction knowing that they are helping our UUCE community.
• All proceeds go the the UUCE general fund to support church activities and goals.
