Other Adult Activities are often focussed on encouraging folks to engage in artistic expressions of their faith beyond the read-talk programs.
In addition, these groups help newcomers get to know people in the church via smaller group settings.

CHALICELIGHTERS

The Chalice Lighters program was established to "Promote and Strengthen Unitarian Universalism" by facilitating congregational growth.

Individuals participate in Chalice Lighters by making small contributions to the Chalice Lighter fund three times a year. The donated money goes to fund growth projects planned and implemented by congregations in the Pacific Northwest District.

Churches seeking grants must have at least 30% of their members signed up as Chalice Lighters to be eligible. We at UUCE do not now have enough people signed up.

The most recent grants awarded in our District funded $10,000 to Port Townsend, Washington for their new sanctuary. Whidbey Island has asked for $17,000.

UUCE would like to be able to apply for a grant to assist us in remodeling our future home. But we need your help. The easiest way to sign up is to go to www.pnwd.org. You will receive three requests for $10 each year, with an explanation of how the money will be spent.

Our church contact is Björn Olson at <bdo2@lehigh.edu>   If you do sign up, ask Björn for a Chalice Lighter Pin. He brings them to church each Sunday he is present.
