YOUTH PROGRAM
WHERE WE MEET
UUYouth meet most Sundays during the school year from 11:00am 12:15pm downstairs in the youth room. Snacks and light breakfast foods are available to munch.
WHAT WE DO
Each Sunday gathering begins with chalice lighting and check-in where each person shares the joys, sorrows, trials, and tribulations they experienced during the week. Then, different Sundays can revolve around different themes.
- We might plan the Sunday gatherings for the month (or more), special events and activities, get people volunteer to complete tasks necessary to reach the goals of the group.
-
- Or one or more Youth might lead a Youth Worship.
-
- We might just play games and laugh.
-
- One or more youth or the advisors share a reading, or other provocative item to generate discussion led by Youth around a topic.
-
- We might hold a Special Event. This could be something fun that youth plan for themselves. Past youth have done art projects, made music, gone bowling, hiked, visited a favorite place, invited speakers, picked up trash in a favorite location, or played their favorite games.
Or perhaps
- River Rafting the Mckenzie River
- Haunted Maze at Lone Pine Farms
- Bowling
- Overnight at the church: bring your favorite board game
- Eugene Stream Team clean-up day on the creek
- Helping feed the hungry through Food For Lane County

The date and registration forms are out for the Fall Conference.
October 16-18, 2009
Camp Cispus in Randle, WA
To download a Registration Packet: http://www.pnwd.org/pubs/Yth_ConTheol_fall09.pdf
PLEASE NOTE: Even though there is a "pay online" option, our church has a procedure to organizing conference trips:
*Reg forms and checks are turned in to church and we send one big packet: Due date for registration form and check made out to PNWD is Wednesday,September 23, to the church office. Partial scholarship is available through church or the con-planners. Please follow conference steps to apply for their monies. Contact Candee for church support. T-shirt purchases cannot be scholarshiped.
*Transportation Organizing: Please RSVP that you are going to conference to me or an advisor as soon as possible, We are looking into renting a 4-J school bus through parent, Digger Peterson-DeGroff, who is also driving. Each family will need to put in a little to cover the cost, but if we are not going to fill the bus, we want to offfer seats to other congregations as well. So letting us know sooner rather than later is best. See sign up sheet in room 5 or email me, RSVP on Facebook, or let Amber, Alex, Rian or Erik know.
Going to con means leaving early afternoon on Friday and returning the evening on Sunday. If you need a letter from church stating that you are attending a church-related event in order to get out of school early, please let me know closer to the date.
