YOUTH PROGRAM
WHERE WE MEET
UUYouth meets most Sundays during the school year from 11:00am 12:15pm downstairs in the youth room. Snacks and light breakfast foods are available to munch.
WHAT WE DO
Calendar. Each Sunday gathering begins with chalice lighting and check-in where each person shares the joys, sorrows, trials, and tribulations they experienced during the week. Then, each Sunday revolves around a different theme:
- First Sunday of month: Planning. We plan the rest of the Sunday gatherings for the month, we plan special events and activities, people volunteer to complete tasks necessary to reach the goals of the group, and we play games.
-
- Second Sunday of month: Worship. One or more youth lead the group in worship, then we play games.
-
- Third Sunday of month: Discussion. One or more youth or the advisors share a reading, or other provocative item to generate discussion around a topic which the youth lead, then we play games.
-
- Fourth Sunday of month: Special Event. This is fun time that youth plan for themselves. Past youth have done art projects, made music, gone bowling, hiked, visited a place, invited speakers, picked up trash in a favorite location, or played their favorite games.
-
- Fifth Sunday of month: Special, Special Event. During those months with a fifth Sunday, youth plan something extra special for themselves.
