RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The Children and Youth Religious Education Committee works closely with the Director of Religious Education (DRE), Candee Cole, to plan and implement the religious education program for children and youth in our congregation. Committee members research and develop curriculum for weekly RE classes, provide backup and support to the DRE during worship services and RE class time, and organize numerous community-building RE activities during the church year.

Director of Religious Education: Candee Cole has been working with the congregation since 1991. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education, and is a storyteller and "big group games" leader. With the help and support of the Religious Education Committee and a cadre of congregational volunteers, Candee organizes and develops the weekly classes and groups for children and youth from Infants through High School. She also is the advisor for the Young Adult groups. Candee and the RE Committee also create a full roster of additional community building activities for children, youth and adults. DRE REPORTS
Religious Education Committee (REC):
The members of the Religions Education Committee work with the Director of Religious Education to support the R.E. program for children and teens. Members laugh and play together, plan, problem solve and assist in the following ways:
* Help plan curriculum and fun events
* Provide administrative program review
* Creatively resolve problem areas
* Get to know other families and children
* Develop philosophy, mission, goals and objectives for the R.E. program
* Support teachers and volunteers
The committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm in the Breezeway room at the Church. If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact the committee chair or DRE for more information.
